I think this is a 6 ½ set from 1938, named "The Sensational No. 6½". It has the A49 motor (this one wrong for this year) It sold in 1938 for $7.95. It comes in a red metal box 18" X 8" X 3" All paint and labels on this set are the original, the cardboard inserts are reproductions.

The delivery truck can be built using the Erector set NO.6 ½ All the parts on this truck were rusted and not good enough to put in the sets I sell and collect. I painted the 10" girdersand trim items with silver paint and the rest with green, a color not found in Gilbert Erector sets.
